Sarah Wrote That

About Sarah

My writing has appeared in Five Chapters, PANK, The Awl, The Common, The Rumpus, and elsewhere.

I obtained my MFA in Fiction at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where I taught honors creative writing and was Assistant Director of the 2011 and 2012 Juniper Literary Festival and a 2010-2012 Juniper Fellow, co-coordinating the Visiting Writers Series. I co-founded Route 9 and was Editor for issues one, two, and three.

In 2013, my story “All the Summers Ahead” was featured on Longform, and The Common named my review of Zadie Smith’s NW to their Best of 2012. My story “Bridal Discount” was on the long list for wigleaf’s 2013 Top 50 (Very) Short Fiction. I was long-listed for the 2012 Dzanc Books Short Story Collection Prize, and was a finalist for New Letters’ Alexander Cappon Prize in fiction and for UMass’s Delaney Prize in 2011. I was awarded UMass’s 2010 Harvey Swados Prize [pdf] and the 2008 Arthur Edelstein Prize.

I’m currently revising a novel (excerpted in Hobart).
